About Hernan
Hello! I recently finished my masters in advanced mathematics from the University of Cambridge (Part III). I am full of energy and enthusiasm for mathematics. I have 5 years of experience tutoring undergraduates, and I love explaining complicated concepts in simple terms. I aim to create a non-judgemental and safe environment for my students, where you are allowed, and indeed encouraged, to make mistakes (it is the only way to learn!)

I enjoy teaching courses one typically finds in an undergraduate maths degree, e.g., real analysis, linear algebra, group theory, probability, etc. For more advanced topics, ask me and I might be able to accommodate. Maths is not a spectator sport: you can only learn by doing! Hence I focus on developing your problem-solving skills by providing you with problems hand-picked to be at your level. During a typical lesson, we might go over any homework set last session (10-15 min), spend some time learning new concepts (30-40 min), and then go over some problems (10-15 min). Lessons are online and last 1-2 hours long, depending on the material and your needs. I have a set up with a drawing board and a microphone, so my lectures look like a Khan academy video.
