About Jacob
I have been informally helping friends and family members with math for several years.
I really, genuinely enjoy when I am able to help someone understand something that I find cool (and most math is pretty cool).
I also love learning and sharing how mathematical concepts fit together and work in the real world.

My goal when teaching is to find at what level a student deeply understands concepts, and then build that depth of understanding. Many things can be explained and learned without a real understanding of what is going on, which I think is less useful. So instead, I try to make sure that the student not only knows how to work a problem or find an answer, but understands it.
