About Jessica

Hi, I'm Jessica!
I am a Business Management graduate and Primary PGDE student, with a passion for supporting learners. I currently have experience working with pupils through a tutoring charity, helping them to build confidence and improve their understanding in a supportive environment.
I understand that every learner is different, and I pride myself on being patient, approachable and encouraging. My goal is not only to help pupils improve academically, but also to feel more confident in their abilities.
As I am training to become a teacher, I am familiar with the Curriculum for Excellence and the importance of adapting learning to suit each individual. I am also confident in supporting pupils up to National 5 Maths.
I aim to create a calm and positive learning experience where pupils feel comfortable asking questions and developing at their own pace.

About the lesson

My approach to tutoring is supportive, patient and tailored to each individual. I aim to build confidence and understanding, creating a positive learning environment where pupils feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes - it's all part of learning!
I adapt my teaching style depending on the needs of the individual, using a mix of explanations, worked examples and guided practice. For younger pupils, I incorporate interactive and engaging activities to keep lessons enjoyable, while for National 5 maths, I focus on clear methods, exam-style questions and building problem-solving skills.
Lessons are typically 1 hour long, but can be adjusted depending on the needs and concentration levels of the learner.
I am a Business Management graduate and Primary PGDE student, with experience supporting pupils through a tutoring charity. This has given me valuable experience working with learners who may need additional support and helping them to build confidence in their learning.
I offer tutoring for primary school pupils (Curriculum for Excellence) up to National 5 Maths, including general support, homework help and preparation for assessments and exams.
