About Jax

I achieved a score of 98 in both HSC Mathematics Extension 1 and Mathematics Extension 2. My academic journey wasn't one of effortless success—I made a conscious decision in Year 10 to significantly improve my performance through disciplined study, effective learning strategies, and consistent practice. This experience gives me a unique understanding of how to help students who want to improve their results, regardless of their current level.

Throughout high school, I became a go-to resource for classmates seeking help with mathematics, regularly assisting peers with difficult concepts and exam preparation. This passion for teaching has continued beyond school and forms the foundation of my tutoring approach.

I hold qualifications in Finance and Mathematics, having graduated from RMIT University (Business – Finance), Deakin University (Finance), and the University of New England (Bachelor of Science – Mathematics).

My goal is not only to help students achieve strong academic results, but also to develop the confidence, problem-solving skills, and study habits needed for long-term success.

About the lesson

My approach to tutoring is highly student-centered, focusing on building a strong conceptual understanding before moving on to exam-style application. Having extensive experience tutoring HSC Mathematics students, I tailor each lesson to the individual’s learning style, strengths, and areas for improvement. I use a combination of worked examples, guided practice, targeted questioning, and past paper problems to reinforce key concepts and develop problem-solving skills. Lessons typically run for 60–90 minutes, allowing sufficient time for theory review, practice questions, and feedback. I have several years of experience tutoring Mathematics at both junior and senior high school levels, with a particular focus on HSC Mathematics Advanced, Extension 1, and Extension 2. My lessons are suitable for students from upper primary through to Year 12, including those looking to improve their confidence, achieve strong HSC results, or prepare for selective school and scholarship examinations. My goal is not only to help students improve their marks but also to develop their confidence and independence as learners.
