About Vanessa

Hi there! I’m a Certified 200h RYT yoga teacher, but my journey actually began at a desk in the corporate world, looking for a way to quiet my mind and get to know & love myself better.

When I first started yoga, my relationship with exercise wasn't healthy: I was moving from a place of wanting to punish and change my body rather than appreciate it. But through the philosophy and practice of yoga, everything shifted. I learned how to truly love my body, tap into its innate strength, and use movement as a sanctuary.

Because I went through this transformation myself just a few years ago, the journey from complete novice to instructor is incredibly fresh in my mind; I haven't forgotten how it feels to start out.

My demanding corporate background combined with this personal journey makes me a deeply empathetic, focused, and non-judgemental teacher. I bring a warm, smiling energy to every session, and I am here to help you heal your relationship with movement, calm a busy mind, and build a practice that honours exactly who you are.

About the lesson

I profoundly understand how intimidating it can be to start yoga, especially if you feel "inflexible" or stressed from a demanding lifestyle. My 1-hour sessions are a smiling, zero-judgement space designed to build your practice safely from the ground up.

These lessons are for
Complete Beginners: Anyone who wants a safe, welcoming introduction to yoga without the pressure of a crowded studio;
Seasoned Practitioners: Experienced yogis looking to slow down, break old habits, and re-integrate the core foundational elements we often forget over time.

My Methodology:
Every 60-minute class focuses deeply on physical foundations: the feet, core, hands and breath. You can choose between two learning styles:
1) The Awareness Flow: We move through a full sequence but focus hyper-attention on one element at a time (e.g., an entire session focusing solely on foot alignment and grounding).
2) Posture Decomposition: We break down just 2 to 3 poses per session, completely deconstructing the alignment. This gives you the ultimate toolkit to step into any studio class later with total confidence.

My philosophy: You don’t need to be flexible to do yoga, you just need to show up. Let’s get on the mat and build your foundation together!
