About Miah
I’m Miah, a first year undergraduate student at Queen Mary University of London, and I’m doing a Bachelor’s degree in biochemistry!
I’ve always been passionate about learning, particularly in science, because I love understanding how things work at a deeper level. Studying biochemistry has strengthened not only my subject knowledge but also my problem-solving skills, patience, and ability to break down complex ideas into clear, simple explanations.
I want to teach because I genuinely enjoy helping others grow in confidence and ability. From my previous experience as a private tutor for 14–16-year-old students, as well as volunteering to support children with different levels of autism in physical activity sessions, I’ve seen first-hand how the right guidance and encouragement can completely transform a student’s mindset. Watching someone move from confusion to understanding is incredibly rewarding for me. Teaching, for me, is not just about explaining content, it’s about building confidence, creating a safe space to ask questions, and adapting to different learning styles. I want to teach because I value education as a tool for empowerment, and I hope to inspire students to feel capable, curious, and motivated in their own learning journeys.
