About Tom
Hi, I’m a first-year Economics student at UCL with 4 A*s at A-level and top GCSE grades. I’ve recently been through the exam system myself, so I know what works and how to explain tricky concepts clearly. I provide structured, reliable, and personalised tutoring to help students build confidence, improve grades, and reach their full potential.

My lessons are tailored to each student's needs. I believe that clear explanations, step-by-step practice and consistent feedback are the keys to building confidence in Maths. A typical session lasts one hour, opening with a discussion on the topic or area the student finds difficult and wants the session to be revolved around. We then work through practice questions and exam-style problems together. I focus heavily on exam technique and past paper practice, since understanding how to apply knowledge is just as important as knowing the content. I achieved 4 A*s at A-Level in Maths, Physics, Economics and Geography, scoring 94% for Maths. During my A-Levels, I represented the United Kingdom in the International Geography Olympiad in which I ranked in the top 100 students. This experience strengthened my problem-solving and communication skills, which I now use to break down complex ideas and adapt lessons to each student. In my GCSEs I achieved 7 grade 9s in Maths, Combined Science, English Literature, Religious Education, History and Geography and 2 grade 8s in English Language and Spanish. My lessons are for both GCSE and A-Level students of all abilities. My area of expertise is in the Edexcel exam specifications for both GCSE and A-Level.
