About Alisha

I am an aspiring Astrobiologist who teaches STEM subjects. I am passionate about encouraging future generations of scientists who will challenge the status quo, and ask important questions in order to drive real change. If I don't know an answer, I will find one for you through my academic network. I am honest and hard-working, and will go above and beyond to ensure you understand content; I will ask you in-depth questions to promote discussions for higher learning. As an academic mentor, I also teach stress management tools, and my forte is exam preparation and improving test scores.

About the lesson

Currently studying Astrobiology at UNSW, I will teach you to think like a scientist and be able to succeed with every learning endeavor. I am a scientist, not a teacher. Traditional tutors and teachers will show you class content, I will teach you how to solve problems using the "bottom-up approach" of physicists. This is a proven skill that will improve exam scores in a rapid time-frame, and will stay with you for life. I am a fully qualified tutor with the Australian Tutoring Association (ATA) with WWC credentials, and 4 years' experience as a Supplemental Instructor for Chemistry (US). I tutor high school students in all STEM disciplines for $55/hour, and university students for $80/hour.

If I have had a question about something I would be reluctant to ask someone in fear of their reaction of me not knowing. I can confidently ask Alisha and know her only concern will be explaining the answer in a way that I do understand. With zero judgement or making me feel self conscience about not understanding.
I am never reluctant to ask Alisha a question in fear of sounding ignorant.
