About Nadra

My name is Nadra, and I'm 23 years old. I am a graduate from King's College London with a BSc in Economics (achieving a 2.1), and a fully qualified teacher with a PGCE in Secondary Mathematics. I am passionate about tutoring because we all have gaps in our knowledge that sometimes a classroom cannot fill, and tutoring is an opportunity to fill those gaps.

I use my previous experiences and my teaching experience to bring compassion, patience and adaptability to my tutoring - providing tailored lessons to all tutee(s). Furthermore, I ensure that I put the tutees first to ensure an effective and strong relationship. I am also currently doing teacher training, and I already have the tools a tutor needs to provide successful lessons to tutee(s).

I am passionate about social mobility and ending educational inequality. I was a widening participation ambassador for my university, whereby I provided tutoring to disadvantaged students and ran opportunities for more state school students to access university.

Outside of tutoring, I play sports such as Muay Thai, run, and hike. I also love cooking cultural foods.

About the lesson

The first tutoring lesson will be dedicated to getting to know the tutee(s). It will be a base to assess where the tutee(s) are. After this, the tutee(s), myself, and the tutee(s) will agree on a structure for what to cover in tutoring sessions over the next few weeks.

My tutoring approach is interactive and engaging. I use a modelling method, where I first demonstrate an example for the tutee(s), then guide them as they attempt the steps themselves, and finally, provide independent practice. Each lesson will also begin with a recap of previous topics, ensuring a continuous learning journey.

I hold an upper second-class honours (2.1) in BSc economics from King's College London. Furthermore, I achieved an A* in A-level Maths. I am also currently doing teacher training and have experience teaching pupils from ages 11-16.

I provide lessons to people of all ages, whether young children, teenagers, or older adults. Most lessons are an hour long, but they can be longer if agreed upon.
