About Sophia
Hello! I'm Sophia, and I would love to help you in your academic studies.
I have vast experience in teaching through online tutoring and as a teaching assistant at the University over three years.
Through my undergraduate degree, I have taken papers including advanced mathematics, chemistry, biology and pharmacology. I have recently submitted my pharmacology thesis and achieved a first class honours degree.
Currently, I am working full-time in Clinical Research at Middlemore Hospital.
I am looking forward to meeting you and going on a journey to help you achieve your academic goals.

I believe each student has a unique learning style. I would assess the students in our first lesson and create a personalised method. My lessons would focus on conceptually understanding a topic and applying it to a question rather than rote learning. This is so that when it comes time to prepare for exams, my students actively apply concepts and use their time wisely.
I predominantly teach NCEA up to Level 3 in Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Maths. I am flexible in teaching other age ranges, such as primary and intermediate. I have also taken Accounting at NCEA Level 3; however, not at a tertiary level; I would be flexible enough to teach this too!
