About Lauren
Hi, I’m Minyoung. I graduated with a BSc in Biochemistry from the University of Manchester, where I gained both theoretical knowledge and hands-on research experience in the lab and through computational projects. My academic background covers a broad range of sciences—from advanced biochemistry and molecular biology to core A-level subjects like Maths, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. Having studied and worked across these areas, I understand how they connect and can help students see the bigger picture as well as master the details. I’m passionate about teaching because I know how challenging these subjects can feel at times. My goal is to make complex ideas simple, approachable, and even enjoyable, while helping students build confidence and achieve their best results. Outside of tutoring, I’ve taken part in international research internships, explored computational drug discovery, and developed strong problem-solving and analytical skills—all of which I bring into my teaching.

How I teach: • I start by identifying areas of strength and topics that need more focus. • I explain concepts step-by-step, using simple analogies and real-life examples to make learning engaging. • We go through past paper questions and problem-solving exercises to strengthen exam technique. • I provide tailored notes, tips, and practice questions for independent study. Lesson structure: • Quick recap of the previous topic to consolidate knowledge • Clear explanation of new concepts, broken into manageable chunks • Interactive problem-solving and exam-style practice • Summary + key takeaways for revision I aim to create a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and building real confidence in science and maths.
