About Jan
I am a British national, married and with two sons.
I hold both a TEFL and a TESOL (Distinction) certificate, and have been teaching English since 2012 both online and in our Language Centre in Johor Bahru.
My students are varied from Elementary to University level and adults looking to advance their business communication skills.
It is my belief and practise that teaching is 80% encouragement and 20% guidance.

About the lesson

In each course, English is introduced systematically and at a steady pace, allowing students to confidently increase their knowledge of the language.
All four skills: Listening, Reading, Speaking, and Writing are covered as equally important elements.
New vocabulary is introduced gradually with regular controlled practice activities, allowing students to activate the language in a supported way and focusing on their fluency.
A Cambridge English syllabus is followed for all levels.
Material is provided giving each course context and direction.
Typically, each lesson is one hour and as many hours per week as is agreed between the student and me.
