About James
I am a Brisbane based Songwriter, Session Musician, Music Director, Artist, and Producer. I graduated with a Bachelor of Contemporary Music Practise as well as a Diploma of Sound Engineering and am currently studying at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music (BMUS - Jazz guitar).
I’m a seasoned professional, having directed and played in many bands. I’ve had the chance to tour as a Guitarist, Bassist, Drummer, Keyboardist, (and even once as a Banjoist) with a range of different artists in a range of different live contexts.
When I’m not teaching or performing, I spend my time producing and writing for a number of projects including my own, “MYRRH”, which debuted in late 2020.

Music is meant to be enjoyed. This is central to my teaching approach. My students are encouraged to develop a strong sense of play, inquiry, and fun balanced with discipline and intention.
My teaching studio in Stafford heights is equipped for all ages, skill levels and styles of learning.
Lessons run in line with the school term and are booked on a on per term basis.
