About Rafael

I am a Brazilian Portuguese tutor specializing in online Portuguese lessons for beginners and intermediate students. I help learners develop real-life communication skills, focusing on speaking, pronunciation, vocabulary, and natural sentence structure. My teaching method is practical and conversation-driven, designed for students who want to speak Portuguese with confidence rather than rely on memorization. Lessons are personalized according to each student’s goals, whether for travel, work, or everyday conversation. I break down Brazilian Portuguese grammar into clear, simple patterns so students can apply what they learn immediately and progress faster in speaking and comprehension.

I’m Rafael, from São Paulo, and my goal is to help you talk the way Brazilians do, with real expressions, natural pronunciation, everyday slang, and the flow that makes you sound like you belong. Whether you’re ordering food, chatting with friends, or handling something more formal, I’ll help you know when to say “Beleza!” and when to switch to something more polished.

Forget stiff grammar drills! My lessons are all about how people really speak.

‍ Who I teach:
• Adult beginners who are starting from scratch
• Learners who already understand a bit but want to speak more fluently
• Anyone who wants to sound natural, not robotic

How we learn:
• Relaxed, real conversation practice
• Useful vocabulary and clear pronunciation
• Cultural tips + formal vs informal speech
• Idioms, slang, and expressions you won’t find in textbooks
• Interactive games and activities to make learning fun and effective
• Feedback and support at every step, no pressure, no judgment

I know what it’s like to learn a new language. I’ve been there too. That’s why I keep things light, practical, and focused on what matters to you.

If you're ready to stop translating in your head and start really speaking, let's get to it.

Check my schedule and book a time that works for you.

Ready to get your Portuguese flowing? See you in class!
