Hey there! I’m Emily, and I’m excited to be your child’s new English tutor! I’m just starting out, but I’m passionate about helping students reach their full potential and making learning a fun, positive experience. Whether your child is in KS2 or KS3, I’m here to guide them through English in a way that feels engaging and approachable. As someone who’s still young, I want to create a tutoring environment where students feel comfortable and confident, not just about their studies but about asking questions and exploring new ideas. My goal is to help students build their skills while having fun and enjoying the process. Are you looking to boost your child’s confidence and skills in English? I offer private tutoring for both KS2 and KS3 students, focusing on building a solid foundation in reading, writing, grammar, and comprehension. Whether your child is struggling or aiming to achieve their full potential, I provide personalised lessons that make learning enjoyable and effective. I believe every child learns differently, so I tailor each lesson to your child’s unique needs. My teaching methodology combines interactive activities with clear explanations to ensure understanding and engagement. I emphasise active learning, where students are encouraged to participate, ask questions, and explore ideas. Key Techniques I Use: Differentiated Instruction: I adapt lessons based on your child’s strengths and areas for improvement, ensuring they’re always challenged but not overwhelmed. Hands-on Learning: I use a variety of resources to make English concepts easier to grasp. Positive Reinforcement: I celebrate progress, big or small, to help build confidence and motivate your child to keep improving. Practice, Practice, Practice: Regular reading and writing exercises help reinforce concepts and promote long-term retention. Lesson Structure & Length: Each lesson typically lasts 60 minutes, which is the perfect amount of time for maintaining focus while allowing for in-depth learning. I focus on ensuring each lesson is productive but also fun and relaxed. I aim to create a safe, supportive environment where your child feels comfortable to make mistakes and ask questions. Experience working with children in both Key Stage 2 (KS2) and Key Stage 3 (KS3). I have worked with a range of students, from those needing extra support with their learning to those aiming for higher academic achievements. My teaching style is patient, encouraging, and adaptable to help students thrive. Ages: 7-14 (KS2 & KS3 students) Levels: Whether your child is struggling with basic concepts in KS2 or preparing for more complex topics in KS3, I cater to all levels. Needs: Lessons can be tailored to address specific challenges, such as improving spelling, writing structure, or comprehension, or to focus on preparation for SATs or the transition to GCSEs.
