About Christophe
Hi! I’m someone who really enjoys helping students understand things in a way that finally clicks. I like to make learning fun, easy to follow, and connected to things you actually care about. Whether we’re tackling tricky math problems, improving essays, or getting ready for a test, my goal is to help you feel confident and proud of what you can do. I’m patient, I listen, and I’ll always find a way to explain something until it makes sense to you.

My teaching style is student-centered, adaptive, and practical.
Student-Centered: I start by understanding each student’s learning style — whether they’re visual, auditory, or kinesthetic — and tailor my explanations accordingly.
Socratic and Interactive: I use questioning to guide students toward their own understanding rather than simply giving answers, helping them build confidence and critical thinking skills.
Real-World Connection: I emphasize why concepts matter — linking lessons to real-life applications, current events, or future careers to make learning meaningful.
Positive Reinforcement: I focus on encouragement and clarity. Mistakes are treated as learning opportunities, which helps students feel comfortable engaging and asking questions.
Sample Lesson Plan:
1. Warm-Up (5–10 min):
Quick recap of previous material using a mini-quiz or discussion prompt to activate memory.
2. New Concept Introduction (10–15 min):
Brief explanation of the new topic using visuals or analogies (e.g., balancing equations as “keeping both sides fair”).
3. Guided Practice (15–20 min):
We work through several examples together, pausing to check for understanding. I ask the student to explain why each step works — not just what to do.
4. Independent Practice (10–15 min):
The student solves a few problems independently while I observe and give feedback.
5. Reflection & Preview (5 min):
Review what was learned, identify any gaps, and preview the next lesson to maintain continuity.
What sets me apart:
Personalized Approach: I don’t use one-size-fits-all worksheets — I design customized materials and pacing based on each student’s strengths, weaknesses, and goals.
Cross-Disciplinary Perspective: I integrate skills across subjects (e.g., teaching math through logic and pattern recognition, or English through storytelling and argument).
Focus on Metacognition: I teach students how to learn — improving study habits, test-taking strategies, and time management so they become independent thinkers.
Empathy & Relatability: As someone who understands the pressures of high school life, I create a calm, supportive environment that helps students feel understood and motivated.
