About Molly
I studied biotechnology and biochemistry in university. I wasn't exactly sure what I wanted to do when I grew up but my favourite subject was definitely a toss up between biology and chemistry in high school. Biotechnology is still a relatively new field which intrigued me and combined what I liked - biology, chemistry and technology. While I was studying, I found a passion for plant biology and more specifically, urban agriculture.
Now, I am a research associate and I study the best way to grow strawberries indoors, hydroponically (no soil, only nutrient rich solution) and vertically (stacked on shelves). It is a very fruitful endeavour (pun-intended) that I love. I am always looking for ways to volunteer through my work, including lecturing about plant science to high school students, and teaching bootcamps to anyone who is interested in our style of growing.

I realize that there are lots of different learning styles and what is important is to first learn how we can best work together. We can start by reviewing what has been learned in class because repetition is key when it comes to memorization and understanding important processes in biology. Then I'd like to go through some practice questions and discuss the processes in more detail. Hopefully we can dive a little deeper into the subject to find out how or why biology is so important.
Lessons can be for anyone at any grade. In my line of work I'm used to discussing complicated biological processes to people that don't normally work in the field. It can be a challenge but as soon as we find common language and practicality, it can become fun and engaging.
