About Jacqueline
I currently tutor a student in Spanish and work as a research and writing assistant. I have a strong background in writing (especially scientific writing). I have experience tutoring first year biomedical sciences graduate students at test prep sessions for medical school exams. I also have experience presenting scientific seminars to students and faculty (public speaking, teaching, and organizing information). I have given introductory guitar lessons. I also have volunteer work experience teaching children.

Hi, I m Jacqueline. In 2014 graduated with my Masters in Biomedical Sciences at University of California, Riverside. I tutor a vast array of subjects, but my preferred subjects are biology (any area) and English. I currently tutor a student in Spanish and work as a research and writing assistant. My long-term goal is to teach health related sciences as a college instructor.
I love teaching and enjoy working with students of all age groups. I believe every student has the potential to learn and become successful individual. I have two teaching approaches. For students that come to me with no previous knowledge, I start with the basic introductory lessons, assign homework, and monitor progress. For students that are already taking a class, but are struggling, I have a different approach. I initially focus on finding my students' weak points. Then, I patiently help my students work through these weak areas and strengthen them. I understand that every student is a unique individual and I can adapt to whatever learning method works best for the individual student. I believe it is important to help my student not only excel in a particular subject, but also to understand what learning method works best for him/her as an individual.
* I only give lessons in Riverside, California or via webcam.
