About Holly

I understand the struggles of the classroom such as teachers moving to fast and not clearly explaining topics, I enjoying helping bridge those gaps and offering a 1:1 lesson as it is extremely rewarding seeing my students realise their potential instead of getting lost in a classroom.

I being by spending the first lesson getting to know my student, understanding how they have been taught in the past, what worked and what didn’t as well as identifying areas of strength and weakness. This sets a solid foundation for future lessons and ensures that I teach in a way which is most beneficial for my student. Moving forward I take a patient approach to my lessons as everyone picks things up at different speeds and ensure that the relevant content has been covered in time for Mocks or Exams using study books, verbal and visual lessons and past papers. Along with this I also teach how to ‘farm the marks’ and wording the mark schemes will be looking for to help students get the grades they deserve.

About the lesson

I currently tutor I/GCSE and Alevel science - Biology (I/GCSE ALEVEL) , Chemistry + Physics + Geography (I/GCSE), PE (ALEVEL).
I am able to accommodate to dyslexia and have had extremely positive feedback from both dyslexic and non dyslexic students.
I take an adaptive approach to a wide range of learning techniques, which may be different to your child’s teacher, that will help them gain a good understanding of the subject as well as teach them how to ‘farm the marks’ in their exams. Every child learns differently and so I will tailor my methods to how your child learns and retains information best.

My Educational Qualifications :

IGCSE - 11 IGCSEs, with top marks in Biology Chemistry Physics Geography (top in the uk)

Alevel - Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, Art, EPQ

University - Mechanical Engineering Foundation (includes Physics, Maths/Further Maths A-level content) - Biology/Biochemistry degree (in progress)
