About Harini
Hi, I’m Harini, a Biological Sciences graduate based in Auckland with experience supporting both high school and university students in Biology. Having gone through the New Zealand education system as an international student myself, I understand how overwhelming science subjects can sometimes feel, especially when students lose confidence or struggle to find a study method that works for them. My goal is to create a supportive and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning at their own pace. I focus not only on improving grades, but also on helping students genuinely understand concepts and develop confidence in their abilities. I am patient, approachable, organized, and committed to ensuring every lesson is productive, engaging, and tailored to the student’s individual learning style.

I take a highly student-focused and adaptable approach to tutoring, tailoring each lesson based on how the student learns and retains information best. My teaching style is interactive, inclusive, and designed to build both understanding and confidence, rather than just memorisation. I use a combination of visual explanations, active recall techniques, exam-style questions, and simplified breakdowns of complex biological concepts to help students succeed. Lessons are typically 1 hour long and are suitable for students in Years 8–12 within the New Zealand education system who are looking for support in Biology. I have experience coaching both high school and university students, which has helped me develop strong communication skills and the ability to explain concepts clearly across different learning levels and academic needs.
