About Candy
I have been teaching math, 6th through 12th grade for over 10 years. I treat learning about math like I'm having a conversation with students instead of just talking at them. I encourage my students to ask as many questions as they like because having any doubts while learning can lead to misunderstanding and frustration and I want my students to feel confident in their ability.

My lessons are geared towards ensuring students have a deep understanding of the fundamental concepts so that they learn for mastery not for memory. I accomplish this by engaging students in probative questioning and discussion of the topics, providing explicit instruction and plenty of opportunity for student practice and productive struggle.
