About Andy
I'm a native Chinese speaker who migrated to Australia 17 years ago. Before moving here, I taught IELTS listening and discovered my passion for helping students grow in their English journey. Since then, I've continued to develop my teaching skills and completed the CELTA qualification to further enhance my ability to support learners from diverse backgrounds. With both personal and professional experience in language learning, I understand the challenges many students face — especially new migrants and international students. Teaching is truly rewarding for me, and I take great pride in seeing my students gain confidence, improve their skills, and achieve their goals in English and IELTS.

My Approach to Tutoring and Teaching
As a bilingual CELTA-certified tutor with years of experience, I tailor each lesson to meet the individual needs of my students. My teaching approach is student-centered, communicative, and supportive — focusing on building confidence alongside language accuracy and fluency.
A typical lesson lasts 60 minutes and includes a balance of vocabulary building, grammar, speaking, and writing practice. For IELTS students, I provide targeted strategies and practice across all four skills (listening, reading, writing, and speaking) to help them reach their desired band score.
I work primarily with adult learners, especially new migrants to Australia who are beginners to intermediate-level English speakers. I also support international high school students who need to quickly improve their vocabulary, grammar, and writing skills to adapt to their studies and succeed in the Australian school system. Whether you’re aiming for IELTS success or need academic English support, I’m here to help you gain confidence and achieve your goals.
