About Maile

Hi! I'm a Mechanical Engineering student at UC Berkeley who loves problem-solving and helping others discover that math and science can be fun! I know that some subjects can feel challenging at first, but with the right approach and a little patience, anyone can make progress. I enjoy breaking down difficult concepts into smaller, easier steps and finding ways to make learning more engaging. Through my experience working with children in elementary school programs, I've learned the importance of creating a welcoming and encouraging environment. My goal is to help every student feel comfortable asking questions, celebrate their progress, and leave each lesson feeling more confident and excited to learn!

I've taken 19 AP Tests and can help study for your AP tests as well!!
I've taken AP Calculus AB, Calculus BC, Pre-Calculus, Statistics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics C: Mechanics, Physics 1, Spanish Literature, Spanish Language, Research, Seminar, English Literature, English Language, US History, Government, Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, Psychology

My teaching approach focuses on building a strong understanding of concepts rather than simply memorizing formulas or procedures. As a UC Berkeley Mechanical Engineering student, I apply the problem-solving skills I use in engineering to help students break down challenging topics into manageable steps. Lessons typically begin by reviewing key concepts, identifying areas of difficulty, and working through practice problems together before moving toward independent problem-solving. I encourage students to ask questions and learn from mistakes in a supportive environment. I offer tutoring in math, statistics, physics, and chemistry for middle school, high school, and introductory college-level students, adapting each lesson to the student's individual needs, learning pace, and academic goals.
