I have experience tutoring many students in algebra and helped them to not only pass their algebra classes, but obtain their AA degrees from community college.

I meet you exactly where you are at, depending on your level of comprehension. My expertise lies in tutoring algebra.
A typical lesson might include solving word problems and breaking down each word problem into digestible pieces. We would first understand exactly what the problem is asking for, and discuss it in human words and language. After that we would define the unknown and known variables, then write the equations to represent what it is we are solving for.
Then we would do the mechanics of the equations themselves.
