About Sujin
Through my four years at UC Berkeley, I've helped more than 30 students with their school and college application essays. I majored in English with a minor in Journalism. I spent four years working at Berkeley's independent school newspaper, the Daily Californian, where I was a senior staff writer and editor for over two years. I spent most of my college career writing in various formats (e.g. news writing, creative writing, academic writing).
I have experience helping both international and domestic students with their writing and reading. I am very familiar with the stress of navigating college applications, and I have helped high school students create a structure and path they can take to make their application process easier.

My primary student group consists of middle school/high school students. My method of teaching emphasizes the importance of curating individual students' voices in their writing while adhering to the school's academic structure.
Ideally, I like to have one on one sessions to help discuss students' writing patterns and how to improve their essays. It's also important to me, however, to help tie in their readings and writings to the world outside of their own to help understand the bigger significance of their work. I try to keep a study group with 2-3 people max so I can ensure that every person gets the quality help he/she needs.
