About Angela
I’m a UC Berkeley graduate with a degree in Economics and Data Science. Both fields demand a strong foundation in math at many levels from algebra and calculus to probability, linear algebra, and statistical modeling. I also work in the industry, where I see how these concepts are applied in practice. This perspective helps me show students why what they’re learning matters and how it connects beyond the classroom. In addition, I’ve been a teaching assistant for both Calculus and Statistics. Those experiences strengthened my own understanding of the material and showed me how much I enjoy teaching, guiding students through difficult concepts, and helping them gain confidence step by step.

I believe math doesn’t have to feel overwhelming — it just needs to be explained the right way. My teaching style focuses on breaking down big ideas into smaller, clear steps and connecting them to real-world examples so the concepts actually stick. I like to ask questions along the way to see where students get stuck, then reframe the idea until it clicks. I am equipped to teach all grades from Algebra to Calculus and beyond to students who want to actually understand and enjoy the material on top of getting a desired grade. A typical lesson starts with a quick check-in on what you already know (or what’s giving you trouble), then we’ll work through problems together. I’ll walk you through my thought process and then give you space to practice with guidance. What sets me apart is that I’ve been in the shoes of a student who didn’t “get” math at first — and I know how transformative it feels when someone explains it in a way that finally makes sense. I’ve always been told I have a talent for spotting confusion and finding a clear, simple way forward.
