The myth about math is always the fear in the kid. To drive out fear he/she needs to be confident about their basics.
A problem can be solved by different methods, teaching kids various methods to approach a problem makes them to think more and not to stick to same old method used in the book.
Statergic thinking, making connections and giving them real time examples make them feel connected to subject.
