About Kelsey

I’m a teacher and maker with a passion for helping beginners discover the joy of sewing. Over the years I’ve created handmade clothing, accessories, toys, and quilts, and I love sharing those skills in a way that feels clear and approachable. I work with both adults and kids, even if they’ve never used a sewing machine before. My lessons are patient, supportive, and tailored to each learner’s goals—whether you want to start with a simple pouch, make your own clothes, try toy-making, or work on quilting techniques. For me, sewing is more than just a skill—it’s a creative outlet and a way to make something lasting and personal. I enjoy helping students gain confidence with their machines while exploring projects that inspire them.

About the lesson

My sewing lessons are designed especially for beginners, whether you are an adult or a child who has never touched a sewing machine before. No prior experience is required. I create a welcoming, supportive environment where you can learn at your own pace and build confidence step by step.

We start with the basics: threading your machine, winding a bobbin, and practicing simple stitches. From there, I guide you into beginner-friendly projects such as pouches, tote bags, or simple clothing items. As you improve, we can explore more complicated projects, garment construction, or finishing techniques.

Lessons are interactive and tailored to your goals. You are welcome to bring your own patterns, or I can provide free patterns for a variety of beginner and intermediate projects. My teaching style is patient, practical, and encouraging, with a focus on making sewing feel approachable and fun.

Whether you’re looking for a new creative hobby, life skills, or the foundation to move into more advanced sewing, my lessons give you the tools to succeed.
