About Cosan

I have been involved with music since the age of 7. I started with piano, cementing my grasp of theory and picked up guitar where it eventually became my main instrument simply by playing everyday! Add into the mix spells of formal tutoring, and this has made me a comfortable, laid-back musician, playing a number of genres but most recently with an emphasis on jazz. Nonetheless, I will also be forever a student. Practicing daily applies to the both of us :)

I started tutoring academic subjects such as Maths, English and Spanish to GCSE students, and then gravitated towards music as it is my main passion - I have been teaching my friends guitar ever since I can remember! I taught in Brighton, where I did my Bachelor's Degree, both in person and online. I then went back to my hometown in Norwich and tutored full-time for a year. I am now based in London giving lessons across the city (I have my car with me!) on a part-time basis.

About the lesson

I am looking to teach at regular hours to students who are interested in becoming guitar, piano or theory proficient. I have a very relaxed and friendly attitude because as soon as it feels like arduous work, we can be put off, as is often noted. I aim to keep the fire burning, tip-toeing around what we understand and what we don't. This healthy balance will make the job of practice so much fun and rewarding. I am 25 years old so I remember very well, still, what it was like to be in your position. A million and one questions. One thought provokes another thought and within seconds you're lost in your own mind. Consider me as your guide. I will teach you techniques that ultimately make my role redundant. To self-teach and to learn HOW you learn best is the fast-track to success. This is what we will focus on. You will learn to wield your instrument with confidence and you will look like someone who has been playing for years. And of course along the way we will quash those relentless burning questions with tasty, bite-size music tips and hacks to keep us satisfied on our journey to playing comfortably and to enjoy our own sound!

The first free lesson will indicate 60 mins but in fact it will be as long as it needs so we know where we are going with our lessons and what our goals will be.
