About Faraaz

I'm Faraaz, a strategy consultant with a genuine passion for teaching. I started tutoring through Kumon before moving into private one-to-one and group sessions, building over 7 years of experience across maths, physics and chemistry at GCSE and A-Level.

I tutor because I find it genuinely enjoyable. There's something satisfying about taking a concept someone finds intimidating and making it click and then watching that confidence carry forward. I want students to leave sessions feeling capable and motivated to keep pushing themselves.

My consulting career has reinforced that skill, breaking down complex ideas clearly and simply is something I do professionally every day, and it translates directly into how I teach.

Outside of work, I'm passionate about travel, food, and exploring different cultures. You'll find me on the padel court or out running when I'm not working.

About the lesson

My sessions are built around developing an understanding first, and then perfecting exam technique. Too many students memorise methods without knowing why they work which can fall apart under pressure.
Every student starts by identifying their specific areas of weakness, with sessions designed to complement school studies.

The primary goals is to reinforce and deepen the understanding behind what's being taught in the classroom, from students who felt completely lost to those chasing 9s and A*s.

I use worked examples, questioning rather than just explaining, and regular low-stakes testing to catch gaps early rather than discovering them in a mock.

Lesson Length
Typically 60 minutes for GCSE, 90 minutes for A-Level. Sessions are focused and structured — no padding.

Qualifications & Experience
7+ years tutoring Maths, Physics and Chemistry across GCSE and A-Level, in both one-to-one and group settings. My background in strategy consulting has trained me to break down complex problems into digestible steps. This skill is critical for both consulting and tutoring.
