About Jerry
Hi, I'm Jerry
I was born in New Zealand but in a Chinese family. Growing up I spoke Chinese inside the house and English outside of the house. I have taken Chinese during high school as an elective, in which I mainly helped out the students there when they're in trouble with certain phrases and words and how to use them. I'm completely fluent in Chinese, but I struggle to write Chinese. I'm keen to work with students and help them to get a proud grade with NCEA. I'll be patient with students and work ways around students in helping them learn the best.

I think there is a range of different ways people can be taught knowledge. I will try many different ways to teach as some methods work better on different people. I will assess everyone differently and understand their goals when it comes to Chinese, if they're trying to pass NCEA or just learning the language as a hobby. I, as a native speaker, had access to the NCEA curriculum so I know exactly what they are looking for to get excellence.
Lesson length could range from 1 to 2 hours, depending on the student's schedule. The number of lessons could range from 2-5 a week depending on the student.
My qualifications are that I'm a native speaker. I have acquired excellence in every single Chinese NCEA exam and assessment.
