About Max

I am just finishing my first year at University in Swansea and previously have studied Spanish at A-Level and GCSE, obtaining a grade 7 (A in old terms) which was a proud achievement of mine. Growing up, Spanish was always one of my favourite subjects and was the subject I am most passionate about still, to this day. It came quite natural to me as I always enjoyed learning new phrases and words which I could then try and teach my parents, as it was always comedic for me speaking in another language around the house. I was incredibly fortunate to have a teacher which supported me from the moment I stepped into my very first Spanish class to the last time I left it. They instilled within me a passion to become fluent in the language as they would always speak Spanish fluently to the class even if we wouldn’t understand every word at the time. One of the key factors surrounding Spanish which distinguishes the subject from others is that you are able to see your learning come to fruition instantly, which inspired me to delve deeper and push myself to have a detailed understanding of the language- I hope to instil this same inspiration within my students as well.

About the lesson

After a student is enrolled to me, I first like to understand what the student wants from the lessons, such as a goal they wish to achieve or a particular grade they need to work towards; as well as comprehend the less confident areas within the subject which need attention. I then adapt my lessons surrounding these areas or areas in which the student feels they need support with in order to give the pupil the best preparation and grounding to perform to the best of their ability within the subject. If at any point the student feels like they may have lost understanding then short recap sessions can be done to solidify the understanding through repetition- as I learnt. I can also produce annotated examples for you to take away to have a solid example of how to lay out a question and how to apply it to other situations.

Max is a calm, patient and attentive tutor for my son who is currently studying his GCSE’s. He is currently is helping my son with the Imperfect Tense and adapts the learning to my son’s exam board(AQA) which helps a lot.
