About Sai

I hold a BSc in Economics from the University of Bath and went from a D to an A* in the small period before the final A Level Exams.

Beyond the qualifications, teaching is genuinely something I enjoy — there's a real satisfaction in taking a concept a student is stuck on and finding the explanation that finally makes it click. What I'm most proud of isn't a single lesson going well, but watching a student's progress build over the course of a programme: seeing someone go from hesitant and unsure to confidently working through past-paper questions on their own is exactly why I keep doing this.

I have currently tutored over 200+ sessions across Economics with a consistent track record of helping students move from surface-level understanding to genuine exam confidence.

All sessions are structured, punctual, and built around clear progress tracking, so parents and students always know what's being covered and why. Professionalism matters just as much as enjoyment: I respond promptly, come prepared with tailored material, and I'm honest about where more work is needed rather than offering empty reassurance.

At AllThingsEcon, our methodology has been shaped by over 3 years of trialling what actually works in the classroom versus what sounds good on paper. That trial-and-error process has led us to a structure we're confident in: two sessions a week, each dedicated to one half of the curriculum — microeconomics and macroeconomics — so students build depth in both without either topic getting rushed or neglected.

Sessions are run in small groups rather than one-on-one, deliberately. This gives students the confidence to answer questions out loud without the pressure of a purely individual spotlight, while also letting peers push each other's standards — students often explain concepts to one another in ways that stick better than a tutor's explanation alone. Sessions are scheduled for 60 minutes, though in practice they tend to run over once the content gets heavier, particularly around topics like elasticity, market failure, or macroeconomic policy trade-offs, where rushing does more harm than good.

Teaching techniques centre on a mix of past-paper practice, mark-scheme walkthroughs, and diagram-based explanations — supply and demand curves, cost curves, AD/AS models — so students build both conceptual understanding and the exam technique to express it under time pressure. For essay-based questions, the focus is heavily on structuring evaluative arguments, since that's consistently where students lose marks even when they clearly understand the underlying content.

A recurring pattern we've noticed: many students who understand the material perfectly well in relaxed settings underperform once exam pressure kicks in. That's part of why the small-group, past-paper-heavy format exists — it simulates exam conditions regularly enough that pressure becomes familiar rather than paralysing by the time the real exam arrives.
