About Dylan

I finished the HSC at Knox Grammar in 2025 and I'm now in my first year of a Bachelor of Commerce and Advanced Computing at the University of Sydney — a five-year double degree combining business and software engineering. My HSC results were 95 in Business Studies (Band 6), 89 in Math Advanced, and 89 in English Advanced. I picked subjects I genuinely cared about and worked hard at them, which is the same approach I bring to tutoring — there's no shortcut around understanding the material properly, but a good tutor can make that process much faster and less painful than going it alone.

Outside of tutoring and uni, I run a gardening business on the Upper North Shore, manage my own share portfolio, and train seriously in the gym. I was a CUO in the Knox Cadets in my final year of school, where I led a platoon of around 20 cadets, and I played water polo at a competitive level — captaining sides that won CAS and GPS premierships and placing third at Nationals with Sydney University.

I mention all that because tutoring isn't just about knowing the content. The students I work best with tend to be ones juggling school alongside sport, work, music, or other commitments — I understand what it's like to manage a heavy load and still aim for top marks, and I can help you figure out where to put your time for the highest return.

I'm direct, I won't pretend a piece of work is good when it isn't, and I'll tell you specifically what to fix and why. If that sounds like the kind of help you're looking for, get in touch.

About the lesson

Lessons run for 60 minutes by default, though I can do 90-minute sessions for exam prep or major assessment crunches if needed. Everything happens online via Zoom or Google Meet — I share my screen, work through problems live, and use a digital whiteboard for maths working and essay planning.
Before our first lesson, I'll ask what you're currently studying, where you feel stuck, and what marks you're targeting. That lets me come prepared rather than spending the first session figuring out the basics.
A typical lesson:

Quick check-in on what's been covered at school that week
Work through the specific topic, assessment, or past paper question you want help with
Practice problems or writing exercises with live feedback
Set 2–3 specific things to work on before the next lesson

After each session I send a short written summary so you and your parents know exactly what we covered and what to practise.
I'm happy to help with: exam preparation, marking practice essays and responses, working through assessment tasks, building up weak topics from the ground up, or just providing a second perspective when school explanations aren't clicking.
