About Katharina

I have been teaching since my student days, about 4 years. The learners were between 17 and 60 years old and came from different countries and different backgrounds. I gained foreign experience in a 3-month internship in Ecuador. There I taught pupils at the Goethe Zentrum Quito. This stay was a very special experience for me. Otherwise I taught in Austria (study in Vienna) and in Germany.

About the lesson

I represent the communicative approach. The most important thing for me is that the learner feels comfortable and can speak as much as possible freely. This means learning to speak is above all about communication and the learner should speak a lot in order to acquire and repeat the grammar and vocabulary of the German language. I teach German as a foreign / second language at all levels (A1-C2) and my teaching is aimed at people who are looking for work in Germany or have already found a job and would like to improve their German language skills. In addition, I have two examiners licenses (DTZ A2 / B1 and telc B1 / B2 / German for the profession) and can prepare specifically for exams. I also offer language coaching. This is not about the pure learning of the German language, but about problems with the language that complicate the (professional) everyday life etc. The language coaching includes counseling elements and also concrete language work. My method is based entirely on the learner and their needs. As needed, the different skills (reading, listening, writing, speaking) are trained and deepened. For suggestions and wishes I am always open and thankful. I have completed German as a Foreign and Second Language at the University of Vienna with the Master, have been living in Germany for 1.5 years and have taught in three Integration / KompAS courses. I have a lot of experience, I am looking forward to motivated learners and try to introduce the German language through varied and exciting lessons. This year I have also completed a language coaching seminar that enables me to conduct language coaching sessions.
