About Riley

I have been dancing for 14 years and have built a strong foundation in ballet through years of consistent training and teaching. I have danced with West Potomac Dance Academy for 3 years and currently train at Cecchetti Level 4 while also being enrolled in a pre-professional pre-pointe program. I have 6 years of teaching experience, including 2 years as an assistant dance teacher at Just Dance Studios. Through teaching, I have learned how to work with different ages, personalities, and learning styles. I want my students to feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and building confidence as dancers. My goal is to help each student grow while making ballet an enjoyable and rewarding experience.

About the lesson

My teaching style is patient, encouraging, and focused on making sure you actually understand what you’re doing, rather than just memorizing steps. I like to break difficult concepts into smaller, easier pieces and adjust my approach depending on how each student learns best. A typical lesson might include reviewing what you already know, working through examples together, practicing independently, and then going over anything that still feels confusing. I’m especially good at explaining things in simple terms and finding different ways to explain something when the first approach doesn’t click. My lessons are best suited for beginners and intermediate students who want a supportive tutor who will work at their pace.
