About Phillippa
Throughout my time as a student I always found it easier to learn if I taught something to someone who was struggling with the same concept and ironically I seemed to understand it while explaining.
I enjoy talking to others about science in the form of chemistry, biology, forensics, and genetics.
I know that I'll really enjoy being able to share what I've learned over the years with you so it would be really appreciated if you gave me an excuse to do that by asking me to be your tutor.

Teaching approach will vary depending on needs of the student.
Generally aiming lessons at high school students studying biology or chemistry who need help with homework or additional learning assistance.
Assistance will be readily available over email, and zoom calls will be 1-2 hours long, depending on the needs and availability of the student.
As a former student in high school, college and university I know that sometimes having to listen to a teacher spill out information for 1-2 hours in a learning environment with about 30 people can be difficult, for understanding and following and is a generalised lesson plan.
Assistance may be possible for university level students needing help understanding subjects pertaining to genetics, PCR, DNA, analytical chemistry, and forensic investigation.
I'll focus on trying to find ways to teach subjects that suit the student and will be dedicated to help with patience and understanding.
Students can feel free of judgement when being taught by me. I was a student myself and I know mistakes happen, I know that it can be difficult to follow things etc. Ask me as many questions as you like and I make a promise here and now that if you don't understand something it's my fault for not explaining it properly.
I will provide worksheets, flashcards, powerpoints, extra notes on your subject, and resource recommendations.
