About Kelly

My name is Kelly, and I have recently completed my Bachelor of Science in Life Sciences at Queen’s University. I have always maintained strong academic standing in mathematics and science, which has naturally translated into my passion for helping others succeed in these subjects.

Over the past three years, I have developed extensive tutoring experience supporting students in both math and science. During this time, I have regularly assisted peers and younger students in understanding challenging concepts, and I have consistently received positive feedback on my ability to explain material in a clear and effective way.

I am confident in my ability to break down complex topics into manageable steps and adapt my teaching approach to suit different learning styles. I genuinely enjoy helping students build both their understanding and their confidence, and I am especially motivated by seeing students develop a stronger appreciation for math and science through our work together.

About the lesson

My lessons are geared toward high school students who need support in mathematics, including Advanced Functions and Calculus, as well as Chemistry. I recently completed a Bachelor of Science degree and achieved strong academic results in these subjects throughout my university studies. With over three years of tutoring experience, I understand the challenges students face and how to explain complex concepts in a clear and approachable way.

I work through practice problems step by step, ensuring students understand both the process and the reasoning behind each solution. I believe repetition and consistent practice are essential for success in math and science, so I focus on reinforcing concepts until students feel confident applying them independently. My goal is to build a strong foundation before moving on to more advanced material.

In addition to content knowledge, I help students develop effective study strategies and test-taking skills. Test preparation has always been one of my strengths, and I enjoy sharing techniques that help students approach quizzes and exams with confidence and perform at their best.
