About Forest
"Twenty two years spent playing acoustic sets in southern clubs shaped my ear. I hold a Bachelor of Music in Popular Music from USC. Nine years of teaching grew from open mic regulars asking for tips.
I cover electric technique, music theory, and songwriting. Reading sheet music and improvisation are also on the menu. I teach blues progressions, ear training, lead guitar, scales, and modes. It just sort of happens."

"Sound starts with the feeling of fingers on cold steel strings. My approach builds on 9 years of performing across the American South to keep things grounded.
Students receive a monthly recorded review of progress to track their growth. This 6.0 ranking system highlights your path through theory and soloing.
Music from the sacred and secular traditions informs how I break down complex chord transitions for you. I find the best results come when we focus on the song itself. It is a slow process."
