About Chalotte
My name is Chalotte Mokobi, I am 23 years of age and I was born and bred in South Africa. I am a third year Bachelor of education student at University of Pretoria. The joy of being around people drew me to teaching along with my own love of learning makes me passionate about teaching. I was also inspired by a teacher earlier in my school years who had a positive impact on me. I wanted to be a positive role model in the lives of students by imparting wisdom and an excitement for learning. I want to influence this next generation of students, imparting to them the excitement of learning, the passion of discovery, and the magic of an inquisitive mind. For me, teaching is a way of life rather than just a way to make a living. I want to instill the notion in my students that they can execute anything. I ought to show them compassion and fairness. I want to treat my students as individuals and try to meet their highbrow and emotional desires. I will attempt to mold my learners into impartial thinkers that try and find answers for themselves.

I am a positive person who has an enthusiastic outlook on life. I love my job and I get a great sense of achievement from seeing my students develop and grow as individuals. If I can have a positive impact on their future, I feel I am doing my job well. I love asking my students to create goals. We do this at the beginning of the week, the start of a new chapter, a new unit, or a new skill. I will once in a week have consultation hours whereby we will reflect on the work done during our lessons. This is a great place to naturally build in those reflection conversations. My main focus is on English beginners, those who would like learn how to read, write and speak English.
