About Elsie
Hi, I’m Elsie! I’m 22 and based in Christchurch. I currently work as a Communications and Marketing Specialist, but I’ve always had a passion for helping young people learn and grow. With a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, years of experience speaking on camera, and Excellence Endorsements across all NCEA levels, I bring both professional expertise and academic strength to my tutoring. Beyond my qualifications, I’m super personable, bubbly, and love creating an environment where kids feel comfortable and confident. As the oldest of seven siblings, I’ve had plenty of experience supporting children of all ages and helping them come out of their shell. I’m especially passionate about English and public speaking, as I believe being able to express yourself clearly and confidently is such an important skill for life.

I take a really warm and personable approach to tutoring. I’m naturally bubbly and easy to get along with, and my goal is always to make children feel comfortable, supported, and confident. I work to each child’s level, meeting them where they’re at and gently encouraging them to come out of their shell. Whether we’re focusing on English, writing, or building presentation skills, I make sure lessons are engaging, practical, and tailored to your child’s individual needs.
Lessons typically run for about an hour, but I adjust this depending on age and attention span so your child gets the most out of our time together without feeling overwhelmed.
In terms of experience, I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, speak on camera for a living, and achieved Excellence Endorsements across all year levels of NCEA. I’ve also grown up as the oldest of seven siblings, which has given me plenty of hands-on experience working with children of all ages.
My lessons are designed for primary and secondary school students who need extra support with English or want to develop strong public speaking skills – whether that’s writing and structuring speeches or learning to present them with confidence.
