About Gene

I understand what it's like not being able to confidently publicly speak throughout high school, having later taken public speaking lessons then becoming SRC and developing my confidence in my identity as a whole has helped me form my ability to speak. Additionally, throughout university, I've used my public speaking skills to help me gain leadership positions from being the Secretary of the United Nations Society of UNSW for 6 months and now currently the Treasurer for the same society, I've loved leading our wonderful team from an administrative and financial perspective. Later throughout university, I've learned from the best Model United Nations competitors from Australia and have developed my skills there, from each competition going from being new to the format at the University of Wollongong Competition, then winning at the University of Sydney competition then being personally selected to represent Australia in a team of 8 to compete at Harvard's WorldMUN. Past this, I remember how confronting it was at my first competition not knowing how to speak confidently and now I can say I can pass these experiences and skills onto you!

About the lesson

I take a personalized approach to understand everyone's abilities and strengths in order to use them in the best way possible. I truly believe everyone starts with plenty of skills, passions, and abilities that can all be used for their ability to speak. I like to keep lessons between 1 to 2 hours as that remains the best amount in order to understand and develop new skills while also ensuring pathways for further development in order to set a good plan and rapport for the next lesson. I've been a private tutor for well over a year, supporting many students in their abilities and growth. I'm looking to support students of all ages, but with a focus on high school students of all grades.
