About Miles
Writing is always a collaborative effort. In our relationship as tutor and student, I will make suggestions but never demands. Writing is a subjective art, and your perspective matters. I'm an accomplished writer, but until college, writing was always what I struggled most with in school. I know what it's like to have teachers dismiss your ideas. I will never dismiss yours. I won't shy away from offering my opinion, and reasoning as to why my opinion has merit, but I will never insist that you accept my suggestions. Your name will be at the top of the paper, and you will have the final say in every word you write.

In my years editing magazine and newspaper articles, line-by-line editing is the best way to improve a writer's work. Together, we will examine your work carefully, examining the motivation and impact of each of your writing choices and how they can be improved. After one lesson, you'll be thinking differently about your writing. After three, you'll be correcting your mistakes as you make them. After five, you'll be hungry to improve each word, sentence, and paragraph you write.
