About Brielle
I am a university student currently in the second year of my social work degree at the Australian Catholic University. I am passionate about helping people and using what skills and knowledge I have to assist others. I have experience as a nanny, youth and children's worker, and gymnastics coach which have all in some way involved teaching or mentoring young people. In my current role as a nanny, I work with a primary-aged boy a few afternoons a week on his reading, writing, and basic math; he is now one of the top 3 readers in his class. During my time as a children's worker, I helped construct and deliver fun, engaging, and motivational lessons. As well as this, working as a children's gymnastics coach taught me skills in taking initiative, teaching a concept to a large group of people, and orchestrating effective lesson plans.

I have an exceptional amount of experience in many aspects of writing including essays, creative writing, speeches, and analytical pieces. I work with primary to high school-aged students on their observational and analytical writing skills, as well as helping them develop their sophisticated and mature writing tone which is essential to sound professional in any school or work context. As well as this, I assist in breaking down take-home assessments into achievable goals and help students manage their research and planning of their assessments. The foundation of my teaching method and philosophy is creating an environment where students' learning desire and capacity can work most effectively. This includes adapting to each individuals' process of understanding a concept and using their strengths to tackle the more challenging aspects of their learning. As a lesson structure, this would look like starting with a warmup activity, then presenting a major focus point for the lesson - an assignment or piece of homework - and then deconstructing that focus point into smaller achievable tasks to complete together.
