About Aurelia
I’m Aurelia, a Law student at the University of Nottingham with A*A*A* in Biology, Chemistry, and Psychology. In AQA Biology I scored 30 marks above the A* boundary, and in Psychology I achieved 20 marks above an A*, proving my strength in both subjects. I tutor Biology and Psychology because I know how tough they can seem, but also how manageable they become once you learn in the right way. My journey wasn’t straightforward. My GCSE results weren’t great, and teachers had low expectations of me. In Year 12 I didn’t fully understand the content and fell behind, but everything changed when I developed my own study methods. With motivation, discipline, and a focus on real understanding rather than memorisation, I completely turned things around and secured three A*s. Because I’ve been in the position of struggling and proving people wrong, I know exactly how to support students who feel stuck or underestimated. Being a young university student also makes me approachable. I understand how daunting it can feel to admit confusion or ask questions with older tutors, but students often find it easier to relate to me and communicate openly. My lessons are clear, logical, and interactive, using diagrams, simple explanations, and exam-style questions. My goal is not only to raise grades but to help students feel confident, comfortable, and capable of achieving their best.

My lessons focus on breaking ideas and topics in Psychology down into simple, logical steps so it finally makes sense. I know from experience that ONLY memorising facts doesn’t work long-term — real understanding does. I’ll use clear explanations, diagrams like mind maps, and exam-style practice to help you build confidence and improve grades! Everybody learns differently, and I know this from experience. In the past, my parents arranged tutors for me who believed their method was the only way — but it never worked. What I’ve learned is that real progress comes when teaching is tailored to each student’s individual needs. Once you find your own method of learning, everything becomes easier, and that’s exactly what I aim to help my students discover.
