About Erin

Hi, I’m Erin! Outside of tutoring, football has been a huge part of my life - I’ve been fortunate to represent New Zealand in two Olympic Games and three World Cups. Sport has taught me resilience, teamwork, and the importance of dedication, and I bring those same qualities into my teaching. I've recently returned to New Zealand having lived in Europe for ten years (including 4 years in France and 3 in Sweden). I love traveling and exploring new places. I love spending time outdoors, whether it’s exploring nature, hiking, or just enjoying fresh air after a day of work. I also really enjoy meeting new people and learning from different perspectives. Helping others - whether through coaching, tutoring, or supporting young learners - has always been something that motivates me. For me, tutoring is about more than just the subject matter: it’s about building confidence, encouraging curiosity, and supporting students to reach their potential.

About the lesson

Hi there!

My name is Erin and I have recently returned to New Zealand after spending ten years in Europe playing professional sport.

I believe learning should be engaging, supportive, and tailored to each student’s needs. I focus on building confidence as much as knowledge, breaking down complex ideas into clear, manageable steps. I use examples, discussions, and interactive exercises to keep lessons practical and enjoyable.

Teaching Methodology

I start by understanding each student’s goals and learning style.

Lessons are structured around clear objectives but kept flexible so students can ask questions and explore.

I encourage active participation, whether through problem-solving, discussion, or applied practice.

Feedback is given constructively so students know where they’re improving and what to work on next.

Lesson Structure

A typical lesson is 45–60 minutes, depending on the student’s age and concentration level.

Sessions usually include a review of previous material, introduction of new concepts, and practice activities.

Homework or follow-up tasks can be provided to reinforce learning.
