About Shannon
After graduating from Cecil College with my general Associate degree, I began working with KB Comm, a technical and scientific communication company, as a technical editor. Through KB Comm, I worked with large pharmaceutical companies to format and edit standard operating procedures, validation documents, health authority responses, and more. During this time I continued my education and earned a Bachelor of Science in Technical Communication from Arizona State University. I continued working with KB Comm and have since become the company's periodic review coordinator, mailbox coordinator, and new hire trainer.

Resume preparation lessons will include selecting the best format to highlight key skills and experience; choosing the most relevant information to include; and writing concise, attention-grabbing descriptions. Lessons may also include writing a professional cover letter. Editing lessons will focus on using Microsoft Word to streamline the editorial process for efficiency. Students will learn how to use styles, templates, find and replace, and advanced settings to format and edit documents. Essay writing lessons will cover the various essay types and their purpose, structure and anatomy of an essay, and citing sources. Students will learn methods to create a thoughtful, well-supported, and coherent essay.
