About Aaron

Hello! I'm a current senior at UC Berkeley majoring in astrophysics and electrical engineering. I have 5 years of tutoring experience in languages, math, sciences, and standardized test prep.

I have taught people learning English as a second language who come from a vast array of language backgrounds, including 4 languages I myself am fluent in: Chinese, Portuguese, French, and Hebrew. I have also taught Spanish, Ukrainian, and Russian speakers. My teaching has encountered people from ages from 12 all the way to 70, and I meet everyone at their requested level.

For high school students looking to take standardized tests or AP tests in language, math, or physics, I am here for you as well. Many years ago, I received nearly full scores on both the ACT and SAT exams, and I know the question style and content very intimately. I have been helping people prepare fast and effectively ever since.

About the lesson

You can expect flexible and highly intuitive teaching in almost any subject . My teaching style varies and is highly dependent on the individual. Whether you need practice speaking conversationally, a structured progression of lessons with materials, or weekly homework help, I will be accommodating you. I emphasize several things across all students: first, I treat questions as central to the process; second, I put myself in your mind and isolate exactly what you need to progress; and third, I give you a good incentive to learn small details that you otherwise might think are a chore. For non-native English learners, I tutor people from all language backgrounds. For high school students, I teach math up to AP Calculus, physics up to AP Physics C, English reading/writing, and foreign language in Chinese and French. I do mainly virtual tutoring, as well as home locations in the San Francisco Bay Area. Virtual students will generally meet over Zoom anywhere from 1-3 times a week.
