About Kayla
Hello! My name is Kayla, and I'm a student at the University of Michigan studying Astrophysics. I will be moving into my senior year this year, and will be graduating in 2020. I have been tutoring my peers since my Sophomore year, in many different subjects. I specialize in both math (Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, Differential Equations, Multi-Variable, etc) and physics (Astrophysics, Thermodynamics, Mechanics, Electricity and Magnetism, Quantum Mechanics), but have experience with many other subjects as well, such as English and reading!
Besides my educational background, I have a ton of experience working as a tutor. I've tutored kids in reading and writing through America Reads, and have also taught, as well as supervised, children during a summer YMCA LOOP program. So, I have a lot of experience working with people from all different backgrounds and ages, most likely because I just love helping others learn!
I've had education in all of these subjects at the University of Michigan, as well as having received an award from my previous math teacher for being the most exceptional student taking Stats. I've had a knack for math since high school, having been placed on an advanced path to take classes a year ahead of me, and have been carrying that experience ever since!
Feel free to contact me to learn more about my lessons! I'd be more than happy to work with you to see if I would be a good match for you!

My approach to teaching is to break down complicated subjects into more manageable parts. As I've journeyed through both physics and mathematics, I find that having a general approach to problems, and step by step solutions, is incredibly beneficial. It provides students with the tools they need in order to tackle even the most difficult problems that may come their way.
