About Samantha
I am an internationally-known cognitive neuroscientist and associate professor, who currently teaches and researches in the field of neuroscience and psychology. I am passionate about inspiring the next generation of neuroscientists and psychologists (current/past student testimonies available on request). There are so many mysteries left unsolved - for example, how to improve treatment for eating disorders, using brain-based data (my field of research) - and hopefully some new students keen to learn might solve some of the mental health mysteries by studying hard and gaining deep insight into how the mind, brain and behaviour are connected.

Trained at King's College London, Uppsala University Sweden and the University of Cape Town South Africa, I bring a wealth of multi-cultural knowledge and real life stories to my teaching. I like to show, while teaching the curriculum, how psychology and neuroscience topics relate to everyday life - from improving treatments for mental health conditions, to designing experiments to test what happens inside a person's brain. I also have expert statistical analyses skills and can teach these for passing exams.
I have published over 130 scientific articles in peer-reviewed journals, including book chapters, and I currently am a lecturer in Liverpool and abroad. I have been a private tutor in the past for GCSE, A-level and undergraduate level - both at the student's own home or at my home. I offer hourly or maximum 2-hour (with a 10 min refreshment break) sessions.

Perfect! Really good
Perfect! Sam is an amazing tutor, I felt really welcomed and relaxed straight away. I feel like she really helps you take everything in whilst still going at your own pace and she even has me excited to learn more at our next session!
